The Border is a theater staged Russian anti-war self-confession, a one man show, one hour long.
Best of The Actors Company Hollywood Fringe 2024 award :
‘The Border’ is a dramatic poem crafted using the auto fictional method. The plot unfolds during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The main character, a young man from Moscow, opposes the war. To avoid becoming a victim of repression, he is forced to leave the country. However, his plans are shattered when he learns that his mother, who lives in a war zone on the border of two countries, is suffering a heart attack. Amidst the bombings, the characters are forced to find ways of reconciliation and forgiveness in war and dictatorship.
The play was written by Sergei Davydov. Director - Ray Hanna. The one-actor star - Misha Suvorov.
The premiere of ‘The Border’ at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in May 2024 turned to be a powerful theatrical event, captivating an audience with its relevance and depth discussion of moral and dignity topics. The show was nominated Best of The Actor’s Company HFF24 award. The City of West Hollywood, RimoVision Group (non-profit theatre company) and DeepARTment (non-profit for the Art With an Accent) are opening the doors for the audience to see the show during the Art Against War Festival.
Misha Suvorov is a trained actor from the city of theaters, Saint Petersburg, Russia. He graduated Sanford Meisner Center in 2016 and works on stage, TV and in film. Coming from an artsy soviet intelligentsia family, he enjoyed a privilege of having the best of what late soviet era of underground arts could offer. As of his acting style, Misha undertook Konstantin Stanislavski's method study and additional training in Mikhail Chekov's technique.
In 2013 Misha arrived at Hollywood were he studied at Sanford Meisner Center of Los Angeles to learn an American way of acting.
In 2024 his solo acting staged project, which he also happened to be producing, - The Boarder - won the Best of The Actors' group during the Hollywood Fringe festival.
The performance becomes the core stone of the current Art Against War Festival, the Art With the Accent movement and is a basis for the Accentric documentary (in the development).
