DeepARTment
Performance and Music.
Our Statement
DeepARTment is a non-profit 501(c)3, dedicated to building bridges between creators of different cultural (national) accents, who call Southern California their new home. We, ourselves, are a collective of new American immigrant artists bound together by passion for self realization.
The motto of DeepARTment is "Helping underepresented artists thrive".
DeepARTment’s main target group currently are Eastern European American artists. We operate under two major programs. One is a focus on helping artists from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and beyond to see each other not as strangers or adversaries, but as creative collaborators. We understand that the journey from government oppression they survived at homes to a free-thinking society of Northern America can be isolating, especially when cultural barriers and war experiences come into play.
The other task/challenge for our collective at DeepARTment is helping eastern European immigrants to better integrate their performing, visual, music and mixed media art talents into American society. For that we developed and started the ‘Art with an accent!’ movement. r leaders

Art With An Accent movement
The main problem addressed by the 'Art With an Accent!’ movement is immigrant’s isolation, self-ostracization and xenophobia in American society. The goal is to help newly joined immigrants to preserve their creative voices, feel accepted and safe with their cultural and linguistic differences.
Within the 'Art With an Accent!’ movement we choose, develop and use technologies that help people of accent to embrace, accept and liberate themselves through creative artistic activities, acceptance of their own accent and speech distinctiveness. The program also targets the general American audience by raising awareness about accent being a sensitive issue for its carriers and inverting refusion to understand into interest to learn and enjoy. 'Art with an accent!’ is focused on proper integration of new coming American immigrants into an existing melting pot of American society and supporting those who aims to become a reliable, responsive, creative and productive part of it.

Vita Solzberg is an art activist, promoter, and artist, who creates her signature art form called Fractus. Her academic journey culminated in a degree in the History and Theory of Fine Arts in 1992 in Belarus—a nation then still tied to Soviet Union legacie. Instead, she focused on independent journalism, which flourished during Glasnost and Perestroika. Vita excelled in TV news reportage, documentaries, feature films, and unscripted reality before returning to her lifelong dream of running her own art gallery and promoting creativity.
